Amber always drew horses from a young age and her work developed into more serious subjects after travelling between outback properties belonging to family members; which inspired a series of artworks that captured the bond between the livestock, the land and the connection of the people who worked it.
This was reflected in every piece of her art work and the identity of each became intertwined with seemingly insignificant items, such as boots and hats. She gained acclaim for her portrayed aspects of rural life, from working horses to working dogs, water pumps, leathered saddles to weathered hands.
